News this morning that IE8 has been released to the general public. I’ve always used Firefox but thought Id give IE8 a test drive. Very initial feedback is showing that it’s pretty fast - Xero tended to be a little slow through Firefox 2, IE8 speeds it up significantly - I have no idea why but there ya go.
Wordpress, the software running this blog, works really badly with IE8 so I’m not sure how long-lived this change will be.
Anyone else have anything to report?

It’s probably worth noting that it’s actually IE8 Beta 1 - rather than a final release as the headline implies
Cheers Phil - Point taken
And also it says “for web developers and designers” in the page, just to make clear it’s a preview, not a full release.
I thought in this day of Web 2.0 we were all web designers and developers

Well, then you hear a lot of people screaming “IE8 broke my computer” when this is certainly not something for them… I was actually planning to write about this.
Fair call MF - For what it’s worth I’m still running Firefox 3 (developers release). Neither IE8 nor Firefox3 have caused any problems thus far
I promise not to blame mozilla or MS if they do!
