Hmmm - I’m a little reluctant to go here but what the heck.

I love Apple products - they bring beautiful product engineering to smart software and wrap it all up in a lovely UI. I’d quite like a MacBookPro, would use an iPhone with abandon and wouldn’t be averse to a MacMini to go (with or without fries).

All this aside - I can’t help but comment on the Apple MobileMe as malware issue. As reported by Sarah, Apple is bundling what is in essence an advertisement for MobileMe along with iTunes. It brings up a control panel which in turn generates a box soliciting users to sign up for MobileMe.

As one astute commenter on RWW said;

Combine this and the “force install” of Safari on the Apple Updater for Windows, Apple is getting very close to becoming a spammy company

I mean Apple products sell themselves with their better-than-average usability. Doing stuff like this just makes them look bad. What do other people out there think?
