The fine people over at xero have launched their pay per month accounting software. It’s great to see a web-able accounting package for SME’s but I just wonder how, in this day and age of open source, a closed source pay to use application will take off. The fact of the matter is that most small business owners in New Zealand tend to be a little tech-averse anyway, the pool of users wanting to use a web based package has got to be pretty small anyway – that coupled with the fact that it’s a closed source product….. I’m just not so sure about it all. Still Rod Drury knows his stuff so we’ll have to wait and see
